A new Canadian ballet company unveils its first full season

Ballet Vancouver, a new classical ballet company set up last year in Canada, announced its 2026-2027 programme, its first full season, on 24th April 2026.
The season will start in September 2026 at the Vancouver Playhouse. It is comprised of three programmes.
Balanchine's Apollo and other works: George Balanchine's Apollo, Black Swan Pas de Deux from Swan Lake, Jorma Elo's Slice to Sharp. Two Vancouver-trained Principal dancers, Heather Ogden of The National Ballet of Canada and Frances Chung of San Francisco Ballet, and Francesco Gabriele Frola, a San Francisco Ballet Principal, will guest in this programme.
Classical Masters: Balcony Pas de deux from Artistic Director Joshua Beamish's Romeo and Juliet, Self Portrait by Tsai Hsi Hung, world premiere by Yosuke Mino, Beamish's burrow.

Ballet Vancouver was founded in 2025 by Vancouver-based choreographer Joshua Beamish. The company performed its debut show in April 2026.
