ABT Principal Cassandra Trenary to join Ferri’s Vienna State Ballet

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) announced on 11th April 2025 that Principal Dancer Cassandra Trenary will leave the company at the end of the current season to join the Vienna State Ballet as a principal dancer.
Trenary will join the Vienna State Ballet as Alessandra Ferri assumes the position of the artistic director of the Austrian company in September. The prima ballerina assoluta was a principal dancer with ABT in 1980s and guest danced in 1990s.
Congratulations!
Trenary joined the New York-based company as an apprentice in 2011 and rose through the ranks to become a Principal Dancer in 2020.
Her final performance with ABT will be on 5th July in Christopher Wheeldon’s The Winter’s Tale.
