Callum Linnane to leave The Australian Ballet to join Hamburg Ballett

Callum Lianne will leave The Australian Ballet to join the Hamburg Ballett as a Principal in Germany for the 2026-2027 season, the companies announced on 2nd April 2026.


Australian Lianne graduated from The Australian Ballet School to The Australian Ballet in 2015. He has been a Principal Artist with the company since 2022.


Lianne's final performance in Australia will be in Flora in April and Romeo and Juliet, which runs from late-April to mid-June, according to The Australian Ballet's Instagram post.


Lianne is already scheduled to dance the title role of John Neumeier's NIJINSKY on 16th and 18th May at the Hamburg State Opera, the Hamburg Ballett said in its social media post.


For Lianne, dancing Nijinsky is revisiting the role on the new stage. In 2016, the second year as a professional dancer, he danced the role of Nijinsky with The Australian Ballet, according to his bio on The Australian Ballet's website.
