Chacott to start another pointe shoe recycling programme in December

Japanese dancewear retailer Chacott will start another round of a pointe shoe recycling programme in December 2025, it said on 4th November 2025.

The sustainability programme works same as the previous one in July. Customers can bring in up to ten pairs of used pointe shoes to its selected stores in Japan, regardless its house brand or other brands. They receive a voucher of 500 Japanese yen (about €2.80/US$3.25) per pair, which can be used to purchase new pointe shoes, a voucher per new pair.

The collection runs through until the last business day of this year depending on the stores. Vouchers are valid until 31st January 2026.

Collected pointe shoes will be recycled into renewable fuels.
