Choreographer Hans van Manen passes away

Choreographer Hans van Manen has passed away on 17th December 2025, the Dutch National Opera & Ballet announced.

Van Manen was 93 years old.

Born in 1932 in the Netherlands, van Manen contributed to the dance world over six decades, creating more than 150 ballets until his last complete works in 2014, Dances with Harp for Dutch National Ballet and Alltag for Ballett am Rhein. In 1959, he co-founded. Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT).
