Eighteen-year-old Mississippi boy to join Mariinsky as Soloist

Alexei Orohovsky, an 18-year-old boy from Mississippi, the United States, is offered a Soloist position by the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Alexei has just graduated from John Cranko Schule in Germany. The young talent already has 24k followers on Instagram.

"In the next chapter of my life, I’m excited to announce I will be a Soloist with the Mariinsky Ballet starting in the 2025/2026 season!" Alexei announced in his post on 10th August 2025.

According to Hattiesburg American, a local newspaper of where he is from, Alexei started ballet training with his parents, who were both professional ballet dancers.
