Former Birmingham Royal Ballet Artist, Regan Hutsell, was crowned the 99th Miss America on 6th September 2026.

"Hutsell became the fourth Miss Texas to capture the Miss America title in 105 years," Miss America Organization said in a press release issued in the following day. "Regan also makes history as the first woman of color to win the Miss America crown while wearing her natural hair."

Through the Miss America Opportunity, Regan has earned nearly $90,000 in scholarships, helping fund her education as she pursues a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences. She has aspirations to become a physio therapist, the press release said.

Congratulations!

Regan appears in the cover image of Birmingham Royal Ballet's Black Sabbath - The Ballet trailer and 5 seconds in in the trailer.

As a personal note, I had a pleasure to see her performance in Black Sabbath - The Ballet when Birmingham Royal Ballet toured to Rotterdam, the Netherlands a few years ago.
