La Scala ballerina passes away due to tragic accident at home - media reports

Antonella Luongo, a corps de ballet member of Teatro alla Scala, has passed away due to an accident at home.

Teatro alla Scala, Milan, Italy, dedicated the premiere of the Kratz/Preljocaj/de Bana triple-bill on Friday 28th February 2025 to her memory, according to the SalernoToday online news.

Geramilano said in its article on 26th February 2025 that Luongo choked when she was eating at home and she was alone.

Luongo joined Teatro alla Scala in 1998. She had two daughters.
