London City Ballet announced its 2025 season programme.
I have absolutely no knowledge about the pieces they will perform, so I copy and paste the text of their announcement on its Instagram account on 22nd January 2025.
“London City Ballet returns with a brand-new repertoire for 2025 showcasing works rarely seen in the UK.
”The company will present George Balanchine’s Haieff Divertimento - an early work by the master choreographer originally thought lost for 40 years after its premiere and to this day remaining unseen outside the USA.
”Alexei Ratmansky, New York City Ballet’s artist in residence, brings ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’, set to Mussorgsky’s eponymous score against a backdrop of Kandinsky’s masterpieces, allowing the dancers to truly bring the art to life.
“Unseen in the UK since its 2009 premiere, Consolations & Liebestraum by Liam Scarlett tells the lifecycle of a relationship from blossoming to fracturing love.
“Emerging choreographer, Florent Melac, best known as a Premier Danseur at the
Paris Opera Ballet, creates a new work in a unique, fluid, musical style which combines inventive transitions with intimate partnering.
“An artist development project with rising choreographic voice, Tasha Chu will be showcased at selected venues throughout future seasons as London City Ballet build momentum and continue bringing dance to venues across the country.”
Cast, venues and dates are not yet available.
