Nashville Ballet shows to continue despite Symphony's season suspension

Nashville Ballet said on 30th September 2026 that the company's performances would continue as scheduled despite the Nashville Symphony's announcement it would suspend its activity.

In the update posted on the symphony's website in the day earlier, the Nashville Symphony said it would suspend the rest of the 2026-2027 season as of 18th October because of its long-standing financial difficulty. Some productions would still go ahead.

Many news outlets reported that all 77 orchestra members and 27 staff positions were furloughed as of the same day of the activity suspension.

The Nashville, TN,- based ballet company posted a statement in its Instagram account and said;

"Nashville Ballet's upcoming productions and performance schedule will continue as planned, with no interruptions. This weekend, Giselle will be performed with the Nashville Symphony as planned, and we remain committed to providing our audiences with a full and complete performance experience of the highest quality. Looking ahead, we are committed to finding ways to work directly with as many of the talented Nashville Symphony musicians who were furloughed as possible, so that they may contribute to add to our live performance experience for Music City's favorite holiday tradition, Nashville's Nutcracker and Cinderella in February. We are exploring every avenue to ensure that we have live music for all these great performances."
