New York City Ballet appoints new Associate Music Director

New York City Ballet (NYCB) has appointed Beatrice Jona Affron to a position of Associate Music Director, the company said in a press release on 11th May.
Affron will replace Andrews Sill, who is retiring. She start the position on 1st August 2026 at the start of the 2026-2027 season.
Affron is currently Music Director of Philadelphia Ballet.
Ahead of the official start day, Affron will appear with NYCB as a guest conductor during the Company’s annual summer engagement at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in July. She will conduct performances of Symphonie Espagnole, a new ballet by Tiler Peck to a score by Édouard Lalo.
