  • Australian pole dancer Fiona Caffin made a Guiness World Record for the highest altitude pole dance, Guinness World Records said in an article published on 9th February 2026. The 57 year-old dancer performed a routine at the Sairecabur volcano in Chile at an altitude of 5,834 metres (19,140 ft). She needed two guides to carry the equipements up to the mountain. Congratulations!



  • The planned U.S. tour across ten states by Les Ballets Africains is in limbo because the U.S. consulate refuses to approve visas, LA Dance Chronicle said on 9th February 2026."The February tour was announced long before a January 2026 executive order that largely banned visas for designated countries, including Guinea where Les Ballets Africains is the national dance company," the news website said. As a result, the initial performances in Florida have been cancelled. The country celebrates the Black History Month this month.


  • San Francisco Ballet's (SFB) new Eugene Onegin by Yuri Possokhov received positive reviews following its world premiere in late January 2026. The ballet, which cost U.S. $2 million between SFB and Joffrey Ballet, was not perfect but "a surprising home triumph for one of San Francisco Ballet’s own," the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper said. Bachtrack said a "masterful season opener."


  • Alexei Ratmansky's latest creation for New York City Ballet, The Naked King, which premiered on 5th February 2026, was praised by The New York Times. It was a political satire based on Hans Christian Andersen's The Emperor's New Clothes. The news paper published a feature article on 3rd February ahead of the premiere. (Subscription required)
