The Washington Ballet plans to move its Cinderella show out of The Kennedy Center to elsewhere amid a string of artists exodus from the Trump-controlled art institution in Washington D.C., the NOTUS website reported on 7th February 2026, citing an email the company sent out about auditions. NOTUS said the centre's website had shown the Cinderella programme for 14th-17th May. The same page now shows an error message.
Washington National Opera will perform most of its spring shows at Lisner Auditorium of Georgetown University in the Washington D.C. after the company separated from The Kennedy Center in January 2026, its home for more than 50 years. In addition, The Baltimore Banner said on 17th February 2026 that the company would perform West Side Story in Maryland in March.
The tanz-zeitschrift magazine said on 17th February 2026 that dance and opera enthusiasts in the Berlin and Hamburg areas might feel let down because the reopening of the high-speed train line between Germany's two largest cities has been delayed indefinitely. The reopening was originally scheduled for 30th April. "So, anyone attending an evening performance who wants to get to bed afterward should expect to arrive home very late," the magazine said in its Instagram post.
