English National Ballet said on 9th February 2026 that its former Artistic Director Matz Skoog passed away. He was born in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1957. He joined the company in 1979, then called London Festival Ballet, as a dancer and danced until 1991. He then worked as Artistic Director from 2001 to 2005.
Nadia Potts, former principal dancer of The National Ballet of Canada, passed away on 2nd February 2026, according to the Toronto Star news website. She was born in April 1948 and joined the company in 1966 at age 18.
Národní divadlo, The National Theatre of Czech Republic, said Miroslava Pešíková passed away on 11th January 2026. Born in 1946, Pešíková joined the Ballet of The National Theatre in 1966. She became a soloist in 1971 and worked with the theatre until 1997. After leaving the theatre, she dedicated her time to teaching.
