Paris Opera Ballet promotes Thomas Docquir to Étoile

L’Opéra national de Paris has nominated Thomas Docquir as an Étoile dancer of l'Opéra national de Paris upon the recommendation of Paris Opera Ballet Director José Martinez, the company said on 21st June 2026.
The nomination was announced on the stage of the Opéra Bastille following the performance of Rudolf Nureyev's La Bayadère. Docquir danced the role of Solor alongside Étoiles Dorothée Gilbert as Nikiya and Roxane Stojanov as Gamzatti.
The promotion has been already reflected on Docquir's biography page. The page shows he graduated from l’École de Danse de l’Opéra national de Paris into Paris Opera as a corps de ballet in 2015. Since 2024, he had been a Premier Danseur.
Docquir will perform Solor again on 23rd June with Sae Eun Park as Nikiya and Inès McIntosh as Gamzatti.
