Opéra national de Paris has cancelled the second show of Paquita due to the industry action by dancers.

Opéra national de Paris says on the website and in the press release on its Facebook page, “Due to a strike followed by a large majority of the dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet, the performance of the ballet Paquita scheduled on Friday 6th December 2024 at 8 pm at the Opéra Bastille is unfortunately cancelled.”

Ticket holders will be refunded. For more information about refunds, visit this page.

The premiere of Paquita the night before was also cancelled due to dancers’ strike. It is not clear how many days the strike is scheduled for, or if it is a rolling strike.

The Paquita programme is scheduled to run until 4th January. Alexander Ekman‘s Play is scheduled to premiere on 7th December and run until 4th January at the Palais Garnier.
