Portuguese ballet conservatory raising funds to repair storm-damaged studios

A ballet conservatory in Portugal has set up a cloud-funding campaign after a deadly storm damaged its building earlier in January 2026.

Conservatório Internacional de Ballet e Dança Annarella Sanchez in Leiria said that its studios sustained severe damages because of the strong storm, and that they were no longer safe to use. Movie clips which the conservatory posted on social media show collapsed roofs and walls stripped off from building structures. The conservatory also said floors and other equipments were damaged.
