The Australian Ballet announced its 2026 season programmes in September 2025. It will be Artistic Director David Hallberg's sixth season.
The Melbourne-based company will continue to perform at the Regent Theatre as the temporally home next season as its usual home base, the State Theatre, will remain closed for refurbishment until 2027.
The new season opens in February 2026 with the gala-style mixed programme titled Signature Works. It showcases The Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadere after Marius Petipa, Grand Pas Classique after Victor Gsovsky and other yet-to-be announced ballets.
In March, The Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre will collaborate to perform the world premiere of Flora by Frances Rings.
New York City Ballet's resident choreographer Justin Peck’s Copland Dance Episodes will see its Australian premiere in June. It is also the first time that the ballet will be performed outside New York.
The rest of the season is packed with Romeo and Juliet by John Cranko and Sir Peter Wright’s The Nutcracker.
In October, the Stuttgart Ballet will guest-perform Marcia Haydee's The Seeping Beauty in Melbourne.
