Patricio Revé, Principal Artist of the Queensland Ballet in Australia, will replace Marcelino Sambé as Romeo in The Royal Ballet Romeo and Juliet programme in May in London, the United Kingdom.
Royal Ballet Principal Marcelino sustained a calf injury during a rehearsal in April.
As far as I know, Patricio, a Cuban dancer, is a new face to The Royal Ballet (Please let me know if I am wrong on this). How exciting! He is listed as a guest artist on The Royal Ballet website.
Likewise, the wonderful Anna Rose O'Sullivan will replace the wonderful Yasmine Nagdhi as Juliet. Yasmine also was injured in April.
It is not clear when these cast cahnges were published. Get well soon, Yasmine and Marcelino!
Here is the YouTube clip about Patricio, with a glimpse of his Romeo towards the end.
