World Ballet Day 2025 date announced!

World Ballet Day will return on Wednesday 12th November 2025, The Royal Ballet announced on 16th October.

The theme of the World Ballet Day will move from behind the scenes to radical accessibility.

World Ballet Day's website is now online. It says, "Ballet companies worldwide will stream and share content for Access becomes Art: World Ballet Day 2025."

Participating companies are below. Each company will livestream or broadcast pre-recorded content from their individual website or platforms free of charge.

Last year, the organisers, The Royal Ballet, The Australian Ballet and San Francisco Ballet, took a break following the ten-year run of the World Ballet Day.

This year's World Ballet Day will be under the direction of Kevin O’Hare, Director of The Royal Ballet, and curated and conceived by Robert Binet, choreographer and Artistic Director of Fall for Dance North Festival, The Royal Ballet said in a press release.

The Royal Ballet will feature blind artist Devon Healey. The company said in the press release:

"The Royal Ballet will present the world premiere of a new work that redefines how we experience dance. The six-minute work commissioned by The Royal Ballet will feature choreography from Resident Choreographer of The Royal Ballet Sir Wayne McGregor, principal dancer of New York City Ballet Tiler Peck, choreographer Bim Malcomson and Royal Ballet Artist Rebecca Myles Stewart. Each choreographer will collaborate with Devon Healey to explore how blindness can open new modes of perception and creativity in dance."

The new piece will be set to music by internationally popular composer Max Richter.
