ABT: Ethan Stiefel appointed Senior Faculty of JKO School, Gillian Murphy's swan song

American Ballet Theatre (ABT) announced that Ethan Stiefel has been appointed Senior Faculty at the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis (JKO) School.

The appointment is effective September 2025, ABT said in a news release on 24th April 2025.

Stiefel said in the release,"To be invited back to an organization that I revere and where I have previously received so much fulfillment, is galvanizing and significant."

Meanwhile, His wife Gillian Murphy will retire from stage in the summer season as previously announced. Her swan song is the role of Odette/Odile in Swan Lake on 18th July 2025.

Stiefel was Principal Dancer of ABT from 1997 to 2012. I saw his Conrad in Le Corsaire during the company tour to Tokyo, Japan. Ali was Angel Corella and Medora was Murphy. I had to miss ABT's Le Corsaire tour to London years ago because my boss told me to go to Paris for business in a very short notice.
