Akane Takada to miss Royal Ballet Japan tour in summer

Akane Takada will miss The Royal Ballet Japan tour in July 2026 due to an injury.

Japan Performing Arts Foundation (NBS), which organises and arranges the tour, announced a cast change on 13th June that the Japanese Principal Dancer will be replaced by Principal Dancer Francesca Hayward for the title role of Giselle on 12th July.

It is not yet announced who will replace Akane as Lise in La Fille mal gardée on 5th July.

Akane herself has expressed disappointment in missing the Japan tour in her Instagram post on 14th June.
