The Czech National Ballet announced new dancers for the 2026-2027 season in its Instagram post on 3rd September. They are Zarek King, Gracie Kirkwood, Albert Schmidtmayer, Ena Kitami, Antonín Zdráhal, Azusa Tanaka, Kenshin Kimura and Benjamin Dunlap. Congratulations!
The Czech National Ballet announced the cancellations of two shows. The cancelled show are Kafka: The Trial on 7th October and the Laterna magika performance Valerie and Her Week of Wonders 8th October. For details about refunds for ticket holders, click here.
Ballett Dortmund awarded the newly created Dancer of the Year (Tänzerin des Jahres) award to Japanese dancer Sae Tamura, the German company said in its Instagram post on 5th September. The first recipient of the award has been with the company since 2012.
Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) thanked eight dancers who have left the company in its Instagram post on 7th September. They are Chuck Jones, Luca-Andrea Lino Tessarini and Zenon Zubyk from NDT1; and Ruth Lee, Nathaniel Belnavis-Wright, Joey Gertin, Erin Park and intern Simon van Schothorst from NDT 2.
Dutch National Ballet Academy announced on 3rd September that Simona Ferrazza was appointed Head of Educational Development at the Academy as of this school year. The Academy also announced on 7th September that Matthew Pawlicki-Sinclair joined its Outreach & Scouting team.
The National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in the Czech Republic announced dancer promotions in its Instagram post on 1st September. Maria Carla Ognisanto and Nikolas Sotiriou have been promoted to Demi-soloists.
