Bayerisches Staatsballett announces joiners and leavers

The Bayerisches Staatsballett, Munich, Germany, announced eight joiners and seven leavers in its Instagram post on 15th July 2025.

Joiners for the 2025-2026 season

• Violeta Keller and Elisabeth Tonev to join as Principals as already announced

• Clark Eselgroth as Demi-Soloist

• Aurélien Hoguet, Oscar Kempsey-Fagg, Jasper Metcalfe, Viktor Sinichiro Prokofiev and Lulu Rose as corps member

Leavers

• Principals Madison Young and António Casalinho, and Soloist Margarita Fernandez to join the Wiener Staatsballett as already announced

• Demi-soloist Vladislav Kozlov

• Corps members Sinéad Bunn, Vladislav Dolgikh and Alfie Pearce

There is an editorial feature titled Farewell António Casalinho & Margarita Fernandes on The Bayerisches Staatsballett website. António said;

"In my first performance as James in La Sylphide, there was a funny situation with Sergio Navarro, who danced the witch. At the end of the play, the witch has to pull the scarf out of her sleeve for James to catch the sylph. As James, you are very absorbed in the performance at this point, most of the dance is already over. So I was really concentrating on my acting and my facial expressions. But there was no scarf. Sergio was looking at me with such a funny, bewildered face. And I just thought, ‘Oh crap, what are we going to do if the scarf really isn't there?’. It's really important for the story. And then I suddenly saw Sergio pull up his skirt and pull out the scarf from underneath."
