There will be many role debuts for the season's first full-length stage programme, Rudolf Nureyev's Romeo and Juliet, which is known for the technical difficulty. To my and everyone's delight, Prima Materia regular Emily Suzuki is casted for Juliet! Emily, ENB's First Soloist, is scheduled to make a role debut on 4th December 2026 in Southampton with her Romeo Gareth Haw, who will have made his role debut earlier in October in Liverpool. Emily is also casted as Juliet for London Coliseum shows in January 2027. Read her pointe shoe secret from here.

Lead Principal Emma Hawes, also a Prima Materia regular, will make her role debut as Juliet in the programme premiere in October in Liverpool with her Romeo, Aitor Arrieta, who will make yet another role debut. Later in January, Emma is scheduled to dance with Paris Opera Ballet Étoile Hugo Marchand as Romeo in London Coliseum. She has promised to tell us about her pointe shoe secret. We are waiting!

ENB has a gruelling schedule for Nutcracker, which will run a parallel to Romeo and Juliet. Main castings for Johan Inger's Carmen and Swan Lake in-the-round are also announced. Click here for more details.
