London City Ballet launches trainee programme

London City Ballet has launched the trainee programme, the company announced on 31st March 2026.


The company will offer trainee positions to 20 dancers aged between 18 and 23. The programme offers minimum five hours of training per day from 31st August 2026 to 9th July 2027 at its studios in Islington, London.


"This traineeship is about intensive professional immersion into the daily company environment designed to prepare you for the demands of a working ballet company," London City Ballet said on its website.


The head of the trainee programme is former Royal Ballet dancer Ludovic Ondiviela. Mentors include Ondiviela, Artistic Director Christopher Marney and Company Rehearsing Director Kate Lyons.


The tuition fee is £7,080 (£5,900 +VAT).


The company will hold auditions on 17th May. To apply, click here. Applicants must have the legal right to reside in the UK. The application deadline is 8th May.
