New York City Ballet: Ryan Tomash promoted to Principal

New York City Ballet (NYCB) announced on 2nd March 2026 that Ryan Tomash was been promoted from Soloist to Principal Dancer.

Artistic Director Jonathan Stafford and Associate Artistic Director Wendy Whelan promoted Tomash following the matinee performance on 28th February, the company said in a press release.

Tomash joined NYCB at the start of the 2025-2026 as Soloist. He is currently on leave from the Royal Danish Ballet where he is a Principal Dancer.
