The Pointe magazine published an interview with Reece Clarke on 5th August. He talked about how he has been managing his regular shows at his homeground The Royal Ballet in London as Principal and guesting at American Ballet Theatre in New York, the United States, Japan, Italy and Greece, as well as at Paris Opera Ballet in France. Apparently, he always packed his carry-on bag with electrolytes when he traveled by air.

Indigenous people-focused news outlet ICT published an interview with Jock Soto, former New York City Ballet Principal, on 11th August as International Museum of Dance would host An Evening with Jock Soto in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on 23rd August to celebrate the trailblazing Diné (Navajo)-Puerto Rican artist. "I didn’t know what was happening to me. I just went to the theater in Lincoln Center, trained with George Balanchine every single day and danced all day from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. then went out to clubs. That was my education," Soto told ICT. " “Mr. Balanchine, he said, ‘I want the brown boy in this piece,’” Soto recalls. “Now it would be so racist, but then it was acceptable because of who I was.” "

Mary, Queen of Scots (8 December 1542 – 8 February 1587) continues to fascinates historians and general public like myself alike. This summer in Edinburgh, Scotland, multiple shows focusing on her are being performed, a The Guardian newspaper article summarises, including Scottish Ballet's much anticipated Mary, Queen of Scots. Others are Mary: A Gig Theatre Show and Mary, Queen of Rock!. Apparently, she was a badass, according to Mhairi McCall, who plays the role of Mary in the rock version.

Gramilano published a review of Rambert Dance’s Peaky Blinders at Sadler's Wells in London on 8th August, calling it a major success. I wish I had been there! If you watched it, please let me know how it was.

The New York Times published an article titled The Secret Weapon of Dance? Hands! on 14th August. It touches upon movements of hands in dance by Martha Graham, George Balanchine, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Alvin Ailey, and many other dancers and choreographers in other dance disciplines. It carried many short movie clips, too. Have a read (subscription required), be mesmerised and let me know what you think.
