Roxane Stojanov has been nominated to Étoile of Paris Opera Ballet.
“On the proposal of José Martinez, Director of Dance, Alexander Neef, Director of the Paris Opera, has appointed Roxane Stojanov Danseuse Étoile de l'Opéra national de Paris on the stage of the Opéra Bastille on Saturday, December 28, 2024, following the performance of the ballet Paquita (Pierre Lacotte), in which she interpreted the role of Paquita,” Opéra national de Paris said in a news release.
This is the original French text: Sur la proposition de José Martinez, Directeur de la Danse, Alexander Neef, Directeur de l’Opéra national de Paris, a nommé Roxane Stojanov, Danseuse Étoile de l’Opéra national de Paris sur la scène de l’Opéra Bastille, à l’issue de la représentation du ballet Paquita de Pierre Lacotte dans lequel elle interprétait le rôle-titre le samedi 28 décembre 2024.
It will take some time for Paris Opera and Paris Opera Ballet to officialise the promotion.
Stojanov started dancing at a small ballet school in Macedonia. She was accepted to the Paris Opera Ballet School in 2007 and graduated into Paris Opera Ballet in 2013 as a corps member. Since then, she has been promoted steadily and has been a Première Danseuse since 2022. How inspiring!
Congratulations Roxane! Here is the moment the promotion was announced after Paquita. José Martinez does not change at all.
