The National Ballet of Canada's First Soloist Jenna Savella will retire after 22 years with the company, it said in a press release on 25th May 2026. Her final performances are the title role of Helen Pickett’s Emma Bovary, with which she was honoured on 31st May, and in Wayne McGregor’s MADDADDAM in June. Toi toi toi!
Ballet de Catalunya, Spain, announced on 27th May 2026 that Kano Umeno was promoted from an Apprentice to a Corps de Ballet member.
Ballet West, the United States, announced the company roster and promotions for the 2026-2027 season on 20th May 2026.
Promotions: Rylee Ann Rogers to First Soloist/Demi-Soloists Nicole Fannéy, Lexi McCloud, Loren Walton and Corps member William Lynch to Soloist/ Maren Florence and Jonas Malinka-Thompson to Demi-soloists from Corps Artists
Joiners: Olivia Book, Mario Mery and Annalise Wood from Ballet West II/ Raquel Smith
Joiner: Natalie Clayton to join Ballet West II
Retirement: Principal Artist Amy Potter
Leavers: Soloist Vinicius Lima, Demi-Soloist Lillian Casscells, Corps Artist Isabella Corridon, and Ballet West II Artists Pieter Gunning and Solomon Fishman
Boston Ballet's Francisco Schilereff was promoted to Soloist, the company said on 2nd June 2026 in its Instagram post. The company announced other promotions for the 2026-2027 season in April.
