Here are two insightful media interviews I believe you will also enjoy reading.

Christian Spuck joined Staatsballett Berlin (the Berlin State Ballet) as Artistic Director from Ballett Zürich last year.

Spuck's first year in Berlin also marked the 20 year anniversary for the Berlin State Ballet after three companies were reorganised into one in 2004. It was also a financially successful year for the company, with 98 percent of tickets being sold. His ballet, Madame Bovary, premiered last season and it already will be revived later in September.

In the interview, Spuck reflects the first year with the Berlin State ballet and the creation of Bovary and talks about the future of the company.

Reece Clarke in WWD on 29th August

Reece Clarke is Principal of the Royal Ballet. The Scottish dancer graduated from the Royal Ballet School into the company in the 2013/14 season and was promoted to the top rank in 2022.

WWD stands for Women's Wear Daily. I personally did not expect much from this interview but I was wrong. I enjoyed reading it.

Clarke and his three older brothers joined the Royal Ballet School. It was the first time in the school’s history that four boys from the same family have all trained there, according to the Royal Ballet and Opera's website. In the WWD interview, he talks about his family, his hometown Airdrie and his career outside ballet in the fashion industry.

Clarke returned to Airdrie to perform the Homecoming gala at the end of August. He frankly talks about how the covid and financial and other setbacks delayed the gala, and how a local premium potato company came to support him.
