Retirement: Scottish Ballet's Javier Andreu, National Ballet of Portugal's Luís d'Albergaria

Scottish Ballet's Soloist Javier Andreu left the company after 11 years. His last performance was the role of Rizzio in Mary, Queen of Scot on 17th August 2025. Javi plans to gain university qualifications in Spain to become a physiotherapist, the company said in its Instagram post. Break your leg!!

Soloist Luís d'Albergaria has retired after 36 years with the National Ballet of Portugal (Companhia Nacional de Bailado), the company said on 9th September 2025.
