Royal Ballet: Vadim is back on stage after recovering from injury

Royal Ballet Principal Vadim Muntagirov is back on stage after taking a few months of break due to an injury.

Fumi Kaneko, also Principal of the Royal Ballet, shared their rehearsals on her Instagram on 31st January 2025 and said:

“I’m so grateful to be rehearsing this beautiful ballet “La Bayadere” coached by the truly knowledgeable coaches Alexander Agadzanov, @darceybussellofficial and @brianmckennamaloney 💝 and to see @vadimmuntagirovofficial dancing his heart out to come back on stage bringing me so much joy and smile ✊🥰 check his last jump to see the proof 🤸🏼‍♂️😆

And thank you @dancersdiary for always making the great videos✨🙌

Performances will be @dubaiopera on 14th and 16th February evening with @baletndb”

Vadim said in his post on 2nd September 2024 that he would take some time off to heal his plantar fascia.

Vadim is casted for Royal Ballet’s Romeo and Juliet in March! His Juliet is Fumi.

Personal note: I had such a luxury in London years ago when I watched her Juliet in matinee and Francesca Hayward’s in soirée in a same day.

I have to say, Fumi is probably one of the best Juliet-s I have ever seen. She was so free in the balcony scene.

But I have never seen Vadim’s Romeo.
