San Francisco Ballet (SBF) announced the 2025-2026 season, promotions and, secretly, amazing joiners and an equally amazing leaver on 30th April 2025.
SFB's 2025-2026 company roster shows Patricio Revé as Principal. Revé is currently Principal of the Queensland Ballet, Australia, and is guest dancing as Romeo in Romeo and Juliet with The Royal Ballet in London, the UK, in May, replacing the injured Marcelino Sambé.
Another new name is Madeline Woo, who is currently Principal of the Royal Swedish Ballet, and Francesco Gabriele Frola, currently Lead Principal of the English National Ballet. On the other hand, Principal Aaron Robinson, who used to dance with the English National Ballet before SFB, is not found.
What also caught my eye is that Misa Kuranaga, who is currently Principal of SFB, is shown as Guest Principal Dancer.
I cannot spot other changes in roster. Please let me know if you spot any joiners and leavers.
The announced company promotions are:
First Soloists: Katherine Barkman (very solid dancer), Joshua Jack Price
Soloists: Jihyun Choi, Luca Ferrò, Nathaniel Remez, Mingxuan Wang, Seojeong Yun
Demi Soloists: Thamires Chuvas, Dylan Pierzina, Simone Pompignoli, Alexis Francisco Valdes, Adrian Zeisel
Here is a YouTube clip of when Artistic Director Tamara Rojo announced the promotions. Reactions from the dancers are ace they make me smile. Congratulations!
Cavan Conley was promoted from Soloist to Principal on 26th April on stage.
