Valentino Zucchetti is creating new Nutcracker

New English Ballet Theatre (NEBT) has announced that Valentino Zucchetti is creating a new production of The Nutcracker with a twist for the company, and that the rehearsals have already started.
NEBT's announcement posted on its Instagram account on 7th August 2025 quoted Zucchetti saying, “This Nutcracker features a swifter and slightly different approach to the traditional story while maintaining the magic of the ballet everyone loves.”
"It is an exciting challenge creating something new for something so well known!”
Zucchetti is currently a First Soloist of The Royal Ballet and NEBT's Associate Choreographer. As choreographer, he produced Anemoi and Prima for The Royal Ballet with his signature swift steps.
In July, Zucchetti, Royal ballet Principal Matthew Ball and Royal Ballet Soloist Ashley Dean hosted auditions to look for the new dancers, who would tour with NEBT from October to December 2025 in the United Kingdom and The Bahamas.
"Valentino will take on multiple roles: dancer, choreographer, and artistic producer, contributing new choreography and overseeing continuity of the production, while working closely with NEBT Founder Karen Pilkington-Miksa on the overall theme and impact," the company said.
