Julien Favreau honoured by French Ministry of Culture

Béjart Ballet Lausanne said on 16th March 2026 that its artistic director, Julien Favreau, was appointed Chevalier of l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by France.

The order is a prestigious honour bestowed by the French Ministry of Culture to individuals who have made significant contributions to the fields of arts and literature, and it has three ranks, chevalier (knight) officier (officer) and commandeur (commander).

Alessandra Ferri, Hofesh Shechter, Ted Brandsen, Olga Smirnova and Alexei Ratmansky were also honoured earlier in the month.
