Scottish Ballet's Principal Evan Loudon retired from the stage, the company said on 8th March 2026. He joined the company in 2013 after graduating from The Royal Ballet Upper School. He danced various roles, including the title roles in Swan Lake, The Crucible, The Scandal at Mayerling and more recently as both Darnley and Queen Elizabeth in Mary, Queen of Scots.
Béjart Ballet Lausanne said on 20th March that dancers Kathleen Thielhelm and Valerija Frank would retire from the stage at the end of the month. Thielhelm joined the company in 2009 after dancing with the Joffrey Ballet nine seasons. Frank trained at the Berlin State Ballet School in Germany and joined the company in 2015.
San Francisco Ballet said its Principal Character Dancer Val Caniparoli would retire from the stage after 53 years with the company to focus on choreography. He received a scholarship to attend SF Ballet School in 1972. He soon joined the company and went on to dance any leading roles. I 1985, he was appointed Rehearsal Assistant and Principal Character Dancer. He created many ballets as a choreographer, including Lambarena and Jekyll & Hyde. His last performance will be in Don Quixote on 28th March 2026.
