Tiler Peck appointed NYCB Choreographic Associate

New York City Ballet's Principal Dancer Tiler Peck has been appointed the company's first ever Choreographic Associate, the company said in a press release on 25th September 2026.

With assuming the newly created position, Peck has also become the first woman to hold any choreographic title with New York City Ballet (NYCB) since the company's inception in 1948. She continues to perform as a Principal Dancer simultaneously.

As Choreographic Associate, peck will create world premiere ballets over NYCB’s next three seasons. Her premiere for the 2026-2027 season will take place on 8th May 2027. The dates of her premieres for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons will be announced at a later date.

"Peck will participate in educational offerings focused on the choreographic process, such as the “Inside NYCB” presentations and other engagement programs. She will also serve as a mentor/advisor for dancers participating in NYCB’s First Steps program, which provides the Company’s dancers with space, time, and artists to begin developing their own choreographic voices in a supportive, low-pressure, exploratory environment," the press release said.

Peck has already been active as a choreographer. In addition to her home ground NYCB, she has created new ballets for Miami City Ballet, Boston Ballet, BalletX, Cincinnati Ballet and Northern Ballet. She choreographed for films, music videos and TV, including  John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Olivia Rodrigo’s “Stupid Song”, in which she also made an appearance.

She has been touring internationally with her own curation, Turn It Out with Tiler Peck & Friends.
